Application Due Date: July 15th, 2011
Is your child interested in the great American cowboy or cowgirl experience?
The Imus Ranch, a not for profit, run by Deirdre and Don Imus have invited ten children to an authentic working cattle ranch, nestled beneath a majestic mesa in the rolling hills near Ribera, New Mexico, fifty miles northeast of Santa Fe.
From August 28-September 3, 2011, children will spend time
-doing chores side by side with ranch hands
-learning to care for and ride their very own horse
-round up Texas Longhorn cattle
-herd and feed sheep, buffalo, chickens, goats and donkeys, taking part in the dawn to dust rhythms of the ranch while developing an enriching bond with animals that will last a lifetime.
The Imus Ranch is offering these spots free to families, including airfare. The objectives is to encourage children to have a sense of achievement, responsibility and self-esteem,
and to instill pride and become aware of just how much they are able to accomplish.
The ranch boasts over four thousand acres with an old western town that rivals any movie set in Hollywood. All the kids become part of an extended Imus family living with Don, Deirdre and Wyatt in the fourteen thousand square foot main ranch house... a stunning adobe hacienda that is an architectural masterpiece. The Imus Ranch has contributed to healing and recovery of over 1,000 children.
Please note this is a limited opportunity but any child ages 11-15, registered with Tuesday's Children, is encouraged to apply. Due to interest in the Imus Ranch, a selection process has been instituted and an application is required to apply.
All applications are due by July 15th.
The ten participants chosen will be asked to complete further documentation with the personnel at the Imus Ranch.
