My Dear Friends, Family, and Colleagues,

miapixleyAs many of you know, I like to swim, run, and bike. Well, this year I have found an opportunity to do all these activities in the name of a very worthy cause. On August 7, 2011, I am going to swim 1 mile (in the Hudson), bike 24 miles (to New Jersey and back), and run 6 miles (around Central Park) in the Nautica New York City Triathlon for Tuesday’s Children.

In order to participate in this race, I have committed to raising $1,000 in support of Tuesday’s Children. I am writing today to ask you to support me in my funding efforts.

Ten years ago, Tuesday’s Children began as a non-profit family service dedicated to serving every individual directly impacted by the events of September 11, 2001. Today, it has extended its mission to helping those who have been affected by terrorism around the globe. In particular, through Project COMMON BOND, Tuesday’s Children brings together teenagers who have lost an immediate family member to a terrorist attack. Young participants come from countries such as Argentina, England, Ireland, Israel, Liberia, Palestine, Spain, and the United States to join in an interactive camp experience, giving way to a unique supportive community.

If you visit the website and read more about both Tuesday’s Children (tuesdayschildren.org) and Project COMMON BOND, you will see the value and impact of this effort. You will also find more information about the organization and its activities in support of victims of terrorism in the US and around the world.

Additionally, do not hesitate to contact Alisha Feltman, Event and Development Coordinator, at (516) 562-9000 should you have questions. Below are three ways to donate:

1) You can call Tuesday’s Children at 516-562-9000 to donate with a credit card.

2) You can go online to the Tuesday’s Children donations page, the link is provided below. Please put my name in the text box under the Donation Amount so they know with whom which athlete to credit the donation.

3) You can write a check and send to the address below (again, please put my name on the memo line):
