Teen Outreach

Teen Outreach Event

On March 7, twenty-one teenagers met in New York City for a get together at Applebee’s restaurant followed by a visit to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.

For some it was a happy reunion and for others it was an introduction to Tuesday’s Children’s newest program, Project Common Bond. Those that had attended Project Common Bond shared their experience with others.

The idea for Project Common Bond came from a number of 9/11 teenagers who have actively participated in Tuesday’s Children’s programs and services for the past six years.

Wanting to reach out to others worldwide who have experienced a similar loss and common “bond”, they suggested Tuesday’s Children create an international community fostering positive personal growth and community action.

At the conclusion of the lunch each teen was asked to reach out to other teens impacted by September 11 and ask them to participate in Project Common Bond. Many laughs were had and lots of pictures were taken at the wax museum.
