The New York Mets hosted Tuesday’s Children’s First Responder Alliance families on Tuesday, June 21st for the first of their annual Summer Series “Meet and Greets”. 100 family members had the opportunity to meet with current Mets players, like David Wright and RA Dickey, before their game against the Oakland A's. The families were able to take pictures with their favorite players and have Mets memorabilia signed. One family member said, “We all had such a great time. It will be a night my kids will never forget”. The Meet and Greet followed a press conference that announced the launch of a First Responder Alliance Mentoring Program. Jeff Wilpon, COO of the New York Mets organization, announced that the team will donate $10,000 to underwrite the launch of this exciting new program. Many thanks to Jay Fagan and Joseph Zadroga for speaking to the importance of having a Mentoring Program available to the children of responders. Also, Tuesday's Children would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jay and Shannon at the Mets for inviting our families to partake in such a special experience. |
