On Sunday, March 17th, the Team Tuesday's Cheering squad gathered to support the 10 committed runners who ran 13.1 miles on behalf of Tuesday’s Children in the New York City Half Marathon. Many thanks to our team members; Erin Carroll, ShaeLee Diaz, Anna Maria Barbuti, Katelyn Mascali, Patrick DiLorento, Jon Steger, Taylor Guthrie, Jim Robinson, Jackie Gilbert and Josh Kaye!  After months of training and fundraising, they raised over $15,000!  If you are interested in joining Team Tuesday’s for an endurance event, please email Amanda Story.

On March 10^th Tuesday’s Children brought a group children, ages 11-15, to the Sharpe Reservation in Fishkill, NY for an Outward Bound Adventure Retreat. Through a day of fun activities they learned the importance of teamwork, performed trust building activities, practiced leadership skills, and had fun with snow tubing, snowball games and s'mores. They also enjoyed hiking through an animal and nature reservation. There were many special friendships made throughout the day, no one was ready to leave their new friends when the day was over! In the evening the children enjoyed a campfire and s'mores, where they all shared their favorite part of the day:

“My favorite part of the day was when we got to become a flying squirrel.”

“I liked that we got to slide down the hill on tubes as a group.”

“I liked getting to see the animals in the reservation center.”

“It was fun being part of the dog team that pulled the ‘flying squirrel’ in the air.”

On March 3^rd Tuesday’s Children held the sixth annual bowling event at Dani’s Strike Zone in Elmont NY for the First Responder Alliance. Over 100 family members came for a fun day of bowling and quality time with other First Responder families. Along with a few games of bowling and a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny and Elmo, families also enjoyed some good food, fun arcade games, a great band, and kids got to sit in a real fire truck!

On Saturday, January, 5, 2013, the Tuesday’s Children Junior Board hosted yet another wildly successful NFL Pub Night fundraiser at 3 Sheets Saloon in Manhattan, NY. The event celebrated the start of the 2012 NFL play-off games and included a silent auction awarding the highest bidder with prizes including Yankees and Mets tickets, autographed NFL gear and gifts cards to some of the best shopping and dining in NYC.

A special thank you to Greg and Mike Emmanuelidis for hosting this event for it’s third year in a row and a big thank you to the entire Junior Board for bringing yourselves and so many of your friends to support TC!
